COMMENTS ON THE LBW STORY

AIM could not have existed without funding and support from certain quarters of the government.

Left to right: Carter Camp, Russell Means, Alex White Plume, Floyd Hand, Alfred Bone Shirt & Vic Camp

Richard Two Elk, a former AIM member, was not interviewed for the film partly because of his first-hand account of the Robinson shooting.

"I witnessed the incident when Robinson was shot in the leg and carried away after an argument with some of the leaders. Carter Camp knows that Robinson died after bleeding to death and he has lied about even meeting him." Camp, an AIM leader who appears in the film, defends his actions as an instigator of several gun battles during the occupation. Two Elk laments that PBS now appears to be a part of the effort to cover up the Robinson murder in order to "glorify" AIM leaders. "AIM hijacked the legacy of Wounded Knee and exploited it for their own gain. They cashed in and left their fellow Indians behind, homeless and destitute. That should have been part of the story. Now it appears that PBS has helped them/AIM get away with it. Another fact not mentioned in the film is that most of the invaders were from outside the reservation. They were not local people with local grievances."

QUEST FOR THE PIPE OF THE SIOUX

I must not forget I am an Indian as well as you who are Indian AIM leaders, followers, supporters, sympathizers. I too have shared the Chippewa heritage, but that I shall share with all, whether white or red or of other lineage or color or creed. Tragic it is when a man will stoop to using his own fellow men, his neighbor's property and personal accomplishments, to gain and promote his own personal aims. Especially demeaning to his own intelligence is it when he sets to his own thing with a lack of mental and physical ability. In_that case, he lowers himself and his supporters to the gutters of the less than human.

As the Oglalas term it:
He wicasa sni yelo!
That fellow is no man at all!

In the destruction that has come upon our village, those who executed the plan, those who threw themselves into their following in any way cannot be stripped of their responsibility for the grave violation of personal, family, and community rights as human persons, as citizens of the United States, and as tribal members of native populations. We for our part felt conscious of our duty to serve our people and our neighbors, all of whom are Indian except about five percent. Tourists over the years grew in their desire to know and share their lives with our Indian people. To deal with that desire worthily, we concerned ourselves with their persons and members of their families unable to come to our people to see and visit them. We wished to serve this broad interest through various means. Indian clerks and guides were always available. The grounds were left always in their natural state. Only foot trails crossed the coulee where once many men, women and children died in a dreadful crossfire.

The tragedy of today is the irony in defacing and desecrating these hallowed grounds in the name of self determination! Structures dedicated to the memory and teaching of the Sioux experience, and to educating in the ways of sharing with the American public the fruits of handiwork stamped with authentic Siouan values, were demolished with no evident attempt to check so aimless and pointless
a pursuit.

Wilbur A. Riegert (1973-1974 before his death, and after the Seige at Wounded Knee)

"It's an ugly dark feeling realizing you were lied to.

For many years I supported clemency for Leonard Peltier, and towed the line for leadership of the American Indian Movement.  The facts, the anger, and the blame Mafia puts on AIM, on its sympathizers, and the FBI is from a law-enforcement perspective, and is revealing.  See clearly through the foggy AIM alibis, the false cry of civil rights.  From a tiny element of Native America we once looked up to, the people's Movement was hijacked by false warriors, murderers, and liars.

Whether you support the FBI or thought of it as your enemy, Mafia is a must-read for understanding the other side of the DMZ, established at Wounded Knee '73." – Tim Giago, former editor and publisher of Indian Country Today, author and nationally syndicated columnist.

Speaking of exposing frauds, Giagos is a man who asks questions he does not want the answers to.

What good are ceremonies if they can't save the people? You need authentic Traditional Tetuwan Lakota spiritual people conducting and carrying the Cannunpa FOR the people, not just for their own agenda.

Our original Cannunpa Wakan is for the good of all mankind regardless of race, creed, color, gender or blood quantum.

Annie Mae Pictou Aquash – Articles related to Aquash murder case 2007-2010

This video is a compilation of public video material of investigators and members of the American Indian Movement discussing informants and the interrogation by members of AIM of Annie Mae Pictou Aquash in 1975. Portions of this clip are taken from "The Spirit of Annie Mae" by the National Film Board of Canada. The person identified as holding and/or putting a gun to the head or in the mouth of Annie Mae Pictou-Aquash is Leonard Peltier.

I'd like to address the malicious accusation by aboriginal education journalist, and publisher of My Two Beads Worth, and moderator for Indigenous People Literature, that somehow I am profiting from the Trading Post on my web site, and WHEN the Trading Post was posted on my site. It is one thing to report the news, but yet quite another to manipulate the news you are supposed to be reporting on, and this is the case here.

The people who appear on my Trading Post do not pay to be there, I've paid my webmaster myself to place them there. They are my friends, I personally have purchased their crafts,

My Trading Post went up on lookingbackwoman.ca only this year (2009), not in 2006 as implied by MTBW on Indigenous People Literature, as a moderator she can do this back dating to make it appear the way it does My webmaster will be posting the archival info for lookingbackwoman.ca to show when the Trading Post WAS posted (2009). I make no monies off of my site, nor do I ask for donations, nor have a non-profit society. Anyone saying different is a liar, and will need to prove their allegations in court, if necessary

The basis behind this accusation was MTBW did not want my Interview on Heyoka Magazine put back up after all of John Lekay's concerns and further questions were addressed in December of 2008. The Interview from Heyoka was removed after pressure was put on John by Paula Horn, Arvol Looking Horse, and of course their friend, Alton Carroll of the NAFPS site.

Since the Interview first came out, many things have come out to substanciate what I shared with John in the interview. One example is the Marie Elk Head Fiddler UTube video, explaining Arvol Looking Horse never had the original Cannunpa Wakan in the first place. ALH is a fraud, and AIM was looking for the original Cannunpa, as Marie Fiddler shared on the video May 2, 2009, when she would NOT lie for the people trying to prompt her to do so, to save themselves…thank Creator, someone had a cell phone with video to tape them taping Marie…and, why it appeared to be cut off at the end. MTBW seems to think she gets to decide who can seek the Sacred, who can pray to their Father, Creator, who is worthy to Walk the Good Red Road, and who is sincere. She has no voice in the real scheme of things, and should not be allowed to muddy the waters, when she herself supported the ALH FRAUD for many years….and, seems to continue to do so by this action against me. If she was truely walking the Sacred path herself, she would not stoop to such nonsense, and meddling…too much time on her hands, obviously.

When people are not happy with themselves or their lives…they try to make others as miserable as they are…misery loves company, eh? When their own racist attitudes cloud their judgements, they should not put that forth into the world, but with a computer…anyone can do it…and, it has nothing to do with truth. It is malicious, unhealthy, and unethical for any journalist to do so….if they have any credibility, or are who they say they are.

You decide for yourself, I stand in my truth, I never waver from what I know is fact. I do not play sick games to make myself feel better about myself, I know I serve my Father, Creator….and, that is all that concerns me. I do not write this for me, but for you…how could anyone believe or trust anything a journalist like this publishes.

No truth, no honor! You cannot control whom you are related to, but you can choose your friends, and what you wish to believe.

Best wishes with prayers,
LBW

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for sharing this latest information on this "Looking Back Woman."  I was somewhat suspect myself, because all pipes are considered Sacred and it is not the norm for someone to put up a website and discuss in detail the things that are on this website.  Details of the Sacred Pipe are not things that are meant for the internet or casual conversation.

I can't help but wonder what is her true motivation.  On this website, it's a little odd that none of the Contact links work – that she does not have the story of White Buffalo Calf Woman – it states on the website that this is in the process of being put on the website.  I would think, that of most things, this would be the most important thing.

True, some of the Lakota Ceremonies – such as Sundance, were shared with other nations as a means of healing – but what happened is that many of these nations have taken the Sundance Ceremony as their own.  For an example, in Canada, the Mik'maq hold Sundance every year and I personally know of people who are a part of that who are drinking, who brag about it and some men walk around shirtless to proudly show their scars – many that participate are not native at all and some of them are the worse offenders, as far as showing respect for the Sacred Ceremony.

One Miq'mak woman I know, who has stolen and lied to her friends and to people who have only been good to her, makes it a big point to talk about how she goes to Sundance every year.  What is the point when one is not walking in a good way in every day life?

I do not agree that all whites should be excluded from participating in ceremony – those who have been invited to participate or be present.  The problem is, however, you get a few people who go to a ceremony and then they think they can do it too – after all, they saw it, right?  So, in their mind all they need to do Sacred Ceremony is from what they have seen.

All nations have their Sacred ceremonies.  Some differ and that is what makes our tribal nations unique and special.  However, I would not give credence to someone who puts up a website and makes all the statements this woman has done and this trading post listed on the website makes me wonder if there is money involved – usually there is by those who bastardize ceremony and who feel every one has the right to do any ceremony they choose.  Nothing could be further from the truth – that "right" has to be earned.  Once we sit back and let others take over our ceremonies, and do not stand in protection of ceremony, we may as well forget about the Indian nations and what makes each distinct and unique and special.  We would have to admit defeat that the white man or Euros have finally won in taking the very last most precious thing each nation has – its spirituality.

With respect,

Jeanne Evening Rain

Dear Alton Carroll & ALH,

You continue to put your foot in your mouth as well as continue to slander me without a shred of evidence to support your lies against me. Do you think this Minneconjou is exploiting his peoples traditions by posing for photos with a Cannunpa? All our Traditional people were photographed with their Cannunpas…one delegation that went to Washington DC, every single man there had their Cannunpa in their hands or arms…do you think everyone of these Lakotas were exploiting their Lakota peoples traditions?

The only fakes or frauds are you and Arvol Looking Horse

About yet another one of your lies .. about my film, "Gift From the Ancestors"… Where is it, Carroll??? Where is all the money John Lekay spent on financing my film you put all over the internet?

There isn't a film, you idiot! Never was … and, I played you and your crew, like a Lakota flute. I wanted to show all concerned, for every action there is a counter action by you, ALH or AIM to continue to try and control that which is Sacred.

You make fun of my vocation, however I can't for the life of me understand why where you teach in Texas, that the Dean would even allow you around young minds with the poison you spew to protect yourself and ALH's investments in trying to make people believe your lies.

I am registered at Cheyenne River, and I am more Lakota than many of the AIM members themselves … on my site their blood quantum is listed, and it isn't much for all the ink they try to get, and got during the Seige of Wounded Knee. I don't see you addressing Marie Elk Head Fiddlers UTube Video where Marie shares with the viewers how the lie began with AIM looking for the Pipe/Cannunpa, and the Looking Horses NOT having It, and taking another Cannunpa from the wall saying to AIM … this one is It. When It was not … that is fraud. Shows as early as 1972, AIM was looking for the Cannunpa, and when they thought they found It at Wounded Knee, they destroyed what they thought was It along with Riegert's book manuscript called "Quest for the Pipe of the Sioux, As Viewed From Wounded Knee.

But, the manuscript for "Quest" was NOT lost, another copy was in the editing process with Paul Manhart SJ who, along with Ralph "Doc" Hubbard published "Quest" (copyright 1975) after Riegert's death in 1974.

Nor was the Catlinite Cannunpa lost if one believes Beatrice Medicine, & Phil Lane Sr, upstanding Tetuwan spiritual Elders and educators. The Cannunpa was there all the time with Fools Crow, the Cannunpa his Uncle Nicolas Black Elk, and he lovingly cared for and kept safe from harm and ego, hidden yet in plain sight, cared for by the Hunoup speaking Bear Medicine Society Tetuwan Elders … never in the care of anyone else from Martha Bad Warrior and Andrew Dupris to Nicolas Black Elk and Frank Fools Crow…to my Father, Calvin…and, then to me.

So Carroll, slander is so expensive…if you cannot prove your lies & allegations against me an apology would be in order…one in writing, and on every site you posted your slander against me. I am sure your Dean will NOT be impressed with anyone who thinks he can manipulate history for their own personal benefit, at the expense of others. Look who the real exploiters and frauds are….you & ALH, not I!!!

I can prove who I am, can you?

Dino Butler was a member of the AIM-IITC interogation squad that interrogated Anna Mae Aquash with orders to shoot her where she stood (June 1975) alledgedly from Dennis Banks, thru Vernon and Clyde Bellecourt and under complete sanction by the Lakota AIM chapter, aka, Russell means and William means. Dino Butler was present at over 28 AIM Interrogations of alledged FBI informants. Anyone who has implied Dino Butler involved with AIM-IITC ordering him to kill other indians, has ended up dead, threaten with massive bodily harm after a very aggressive confrontation or simply assaulted from unknown assailants. He was and still is a very dangerous criminally insane killer. Even prior to being recruited by AIM-IITC as a hit man or enforcer. He has given interviews (readily available on the internet search engines) where he boldly acknowledges co-conspiring to set-up lies about what the real activities of AIM-IITC were, or misinform the indians about his involvement in criminal acts against indian people, and continuing to mislead any investigation (into a dead end) concerning the AIM-IITC inner circle members ordering the outright murders of innocent men and women they percieved as a threat to them.

Several private investigators researching Dino and company, have raised red flags he may very well be involved with federal agents as a hidden informer and is deliberately offering information which will bring about more uncertainties to closure of the AIM-IITC saga. If we see Dino Butler commit suicide, have 20 days to live from cancer,or suddenly die similiarly as the other AIM-IITC former crew members: douglas durham, vernon belleocurt, robert robideau, i.e. who were all main players and probable potential federal witnesses against AIM-IITC. Then there is sufficent evidence Dino Butler was a hidden federal informant.

In the EK Caldwell interview, identifying who killed Anna Mae Aquash was not important to Dino Butler but he redirected his complicity into a complicated reason of insane babbling. Implying Anna Mae Aquash gave her life rather than someone(s) ordered her death from within the AIM-IITC leadership. Dino Butler knowingly, and willingly, conspired to interrogate, or kill, Anna Mae Aquash as a Federal Informant and further hide the truth with more carefully crafted lies and redirecting serious inquiries of her murder into rhetoric of his 32 years in prison as a poor helpless victim of his insanity.

EK Caldwell: Do you think that identifying the actual person(s) that killed Anna Mae will be of consequence to the true liberation of the People from a legacy of hatred?

Dino Butler: I don't think that it's the issue here. Certainly the truth is at issue, but to me, it's not the truth of who or what killed Anna Mae. The real issue is a lot bigger than Anna Mae or anybody. The issue is survival.

Dino Butler: Anna Mae gave her life for a reason. Our getting involved with each other fighting about who's telling the truth about it and pointing fingers at each other won't work. We should confront what really happened to Anna Mae, and what really happened to her is a corrupt values system that is the enemy to all natural life.

(EK Caldwell died in 1997)

Dino Butler (interview with Serle L. Chapman )

"The reason Bob (robideau) now wanted this private meeting with me was because he wanted me to verify this Mr X story that he and Dave (hill) had given to this writer. Bob said that after the writer got off the phone with Dave, he sat down with him and he verified his part of the story; he told Oliver's writer that he and Joe [Stuntz] and me were down by the agents' cars and that this pick-up came in and that someone had gotten out of this pick-up and shot the agents and jumped back in and driven off. Since Joe was already dead he couldn't verify it and so he wanted me to verify the story because they had placed me down there with them".

IN THIS INTERVIEW, DINO EXPLICITELY EXPLAINS JOSEPH STUNTZ WAS ALREADY DEATH WITH A BULLET SHOT BETWEEN THE EYES FROM THE FBI AGENTS PISTOL AND WEARING THE FBI AGENTS GREEN FIELD COAT, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN EXPLAINED BEFORE, BUT IN THIS INTERVIEW? DINO KNOWS ALREADY AND HAS TO ADJUST HIS FABRICATED LIES TO FIT THE COURT ROOM TESTIMONY HE GAVE AT HIS TRIAL. WE WONDER HOW AND WHY JOSEPH STUNTZ HAD ON THE FBI AGENTS FIELD COAT LABELED, FBI, ON ITS POCKET, LAYING DEAD 759 YARDS AWAY IN ANOTHER POOL OF BLOOD ON THE GROUND IF HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE KILLED BY THE FBI AGENTS SERVICE REVOLVERS WAY BEFORE DINO AND COMPANY SAID HE WAS? CONSIDERING THE FBI AGENTS USED 38 SERVICE REVOLVERS TO ATTACK THE CAMP AT 1/4-1/2 MILE AWAY? ACCORDING TO AIM-IITC CAMP TESTIMONY AND THE CAMP AIM-IITC CREW USED AR15'S AND LONG RANGE RIFLES WHILE THE 38 SPECIAL HAS A 50 YARD RANGE AT A LUCKY SHOT. THERE WERE OVER 146 BULLET HOLES IN THE FBI AGENTS CARS. IF JOE STUNTZ WAS ALREADY SHOT PRIOR TO DINO, LEONARD AND CREW CONFRONTING THE RESCUE LAW PERSONEL FOR THE KILLED FBI AGENTS? THEN JOSEPH STUNTZ COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DEAD AND LATER PUTTING ON THE FBI AGENTS GREEN FIELD COAT. THATS IMPOSSIBLE. JOSEPH STUNTZ HAD TO HAVE BEEN ALIVE, TAKEN THE FBI AGENT FIELD COAT OUT OF THE AGENTS TRUNK WHILE THEY KILLED THE FBI AGENTS AND NOT AS DINO, LEONARD, BOB,ETC, LAYED OUT THEIR ALIBI INFORMATION AS TO THE EVENTS IN THE 4 MINUTES OF THE DEADLY SHOOT-OUT. JOSEPH STUNTZ HAD TO HAVE SURVIVED THE ORIGINAL SHOOT-OUT WITH THE AGENTS, SOMEONE(S) FORCED HIM TO PUT ON THE FBI AGENTS GREEN FIELD JACKET, FORCED TO WALK 759 YARDS AWAY FROM THE AGENTS CARS AND LATER WAS SHOT BETWEEN THE EYES BY THE AGENTS GUN THAT WAS IN LEONARD PELTIERS POSSESSION. LEONARD PELTIER LIKED TO SHOOT FEDERAL AGENTS AND INFORMANTS BETWEEN THE EYES.

THIS QUOTE IS SELF-EVIDENT, "Anna Mae came and talked to me in my sleep. She came and talked to me. I didn't feel sorry for her after that."

A BRILLIANT AND ORCHESTRATED LIE. "We have always maintained that those agents who were killed were caught in the crossfire."

Bottom line? yes!.. Mister Darrell "DINO" Butler is not to be trusted due to the many fabricated lies and deceptive staged interviews he has exploited upon the innocent indian people concerning his personal involvement in killing indians and staging further disclosure of falsified and misleading information meant to cover his actions and those of his inner circle group within the deadly interrogation crew of AIM-IITC'S assasination for federal informants and operatives.

Mister Darrell "DINO" Butler, even after 32 years of incarceration charges? Has security clearance to enter several maximum level federal and state prisons to conduct lakota and other indian ceremonies not of his Tututni tribal traditional ceremonies.

Mister Darrell "DINO" Butler does not fall outside of the Elders principles. There are questions that should be asked of these individuals such as Dino Butler who profess to instruct others in ceremonies: What Nation do they represent? What Clan or Society do they belong to? Who instructed them and where did they learn? and What is their home address? Is the ceremony you are conducting from your tribe?"

Here is what an elderly Indian lady named Agnes Gildersleeve says the AIM terrorists–not Indian activists–did in her town:
"[AIM] took complete control of the telephone service and local residents were not permitted to answer any of the phones. When my phone would ring, an armed guard would immediately answer the phone and direct the call over to the trailer house where Banks, Means, and Bellecourt were located…"
The trailer was the home of a man who was confined to a wheelchair named Wilber Reigert. AIMsters pushed Mr. Reigert right out of his trailer into the Gildersleeves' house and stole his trailer for their headquarters.

DLN Issues : The Selling of Indian Culture
Statement by Marie Fiddler, Frank Eagle Tail and Shirley Fiddler

We are in the process of getting copies of these documents out to the world. People have to wake up and realize that they are being fooled by Arvol and Paula, One of the greatest Hoaxes of the times by this couple and their families, of course they stand a lot to lose money wise, These lineal descendants of Elk Head have their papers and their probate records to prove the truth, this would hold up in any court.

Alfred Bone Shirt

To: Mr. Arvol Looking Horse and Paula Horne-Mullen; All Youth organizatlons/groups, All Federally Recognized Tribes; Respective Chairmen; Respective Council people; Non- Profit organizatlons, other organizations/groups; Businesses; Universities; Schools and all education systems; Casinos; Museums; News Medial: Radio, Newspapers and Television; private individuals and extended relatives of Mr. Looking Horse.

We, as the rightful heirs and direct, lineal descendants of the 9th Generation Keeper of our Sacred Cannunpa; Elk Head, are requesting that Mr. Arvol Looking Horse cease and desist from misrepresenting himself as the so called 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred Cannunpa; the White Buffalo Calf Pipe, as he puts it. Mr. Arvol Looking Horse is not a direct lineal descendant, nor is he related by blood or have any type of familial ties, and nor was he or his relatives before him was ever designated to be the Keeper, by Elk Head; who was the true Keeper and had passed into the spirit world in 1914. Our grandfather, Elk Head had left a legal will in his probate records designating his eldest son, Elias Elk Head to be the Keeper of the sacred Cannunpa and designated his eldest grandson from Elias, William Elk Head to be after Elias. Mrs. Martha Bad Warrior was not his daughter, nor was she designated to be a Keeper of the sacred Cannunpa. It was traditional law that the Cannunpa was to be kept from father to son, in the ltazipcola band. Each male keeper opened the Cannunpa in need of war, starvation and sickness that involves all the Sioux Nation of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people to see it and pray with it. Why hasn't Arvol ever opened it to our people to actually see the contents of the sacred Cannunpa? When the Elk Head family members have all seen it? There has been negative propaganda against our family, who are the true, direct, lineal descendants of Elk Head, by Mr. Arvol Looking Horse and his partner, Paula Horne-Mullen, as well as his family members; which has caused media censorship against our family so we can not address Mr. Arvol Looking Horses' lies and distortions of the truth. It has also caused violent threats, violent actions/retaliations against our family members and having our personal property destroyed by his family members and followers/supporters. Examples of media censorship includes: The Native Voice newspaper, owned by Mr. Frank King and Lisa King, The Dakota Journal, owned by the Flandreau Sioux Tribe and the Lakota Country Times who are supporters of Mr. Arvol Looking Horse and who have written many supporting articles about him as the 19th Generation Keeper of the sacred Cannunpa without consulting us, the Elk Head family and allowing us equal media time. We are demanding that these news medias, cease and desist in assisting Arvol Looking Horse from perpetuating the misrepresentation and fraudulent activities as a so called Keeper and spreading any more negative propaganda about our family by writing any more articles concerning our sacred Cannunpa and give us equal media time to bring out the facts and truth as we are the true, direct, lineal descendants of our 9th Keeper, Elk Head.

We are asking all individuals addressed in this letter to stop using and catering to Mr. Arvol Looking Horse and addressing him as the 19th Generation Keeper of our sacred Cannunpa which is assisting him in perpetuating his misrepresentation and all of his fraudulent activities. We, as the Elk Head family have designated Shirley Fiddler-granddaughter to the 9th Generation Keeper, Elk Head, to be our spokesperson and contact person in these matters. All questions and concerns should be directed to Shirley Fiddler @ 605-964-7313 who resides in Green Grass, South Dakota.

Respectfully submitted by the true, direct, lineal descendants of our grandfather Elk Head,

You are either extremely naive or you choose to be willifully blind in order to believe that Dupree is any kind of medicine woman or has any respect or standing among her people that she abandoned long ago.

Dupree is a hairdresser, and one of the worst liars I have ever seen, who has led a campaign to smear and defame the actual medicine people and traditional leaders among the Lakota. There are barely any words in her fanciful stories that are anything close to being true, and only an outsider with little understanding of Lakota or Native traditions or peoples would think otherwise.

In one sense Dupree is a pawn, much as you are allowing yourself to be used as a pawn also. A racist New Age promoter, John Lekay or Heyoka Magazine, is seeking to gain power and control over Lakota people and religion and hopes to do so using Dupree. Lekay in turn has worked with white supremacists seeking to undermine NAFPS and its work.

While your willingness to help protest wrongs against Native people is admirable, you commit very similar wrongs yourself when you promote a liar and exploiter like Dupree.

To a large extent you are simply very confused, as your online discussion of your vision shows. A vision is not something you display for everyone to see like an antique curio you are proud of finding in a shop, and your discussion of its meaning publicly would strike most Native people as vain, showy, and an act of personal ego. Your interpretation of its meaning shows a lot of grasping at straws, at many different belief systems that are unrelated.

You are not listed as a fraud at NAFPS, only as a very naive and confused supporter of a New Age fraud, Suzanne Dupree. So the listing stays since it is accurate.

I hope you reconsider your public support of an abusive, liar, and exploiter of Lakota tradiitons, Suzanne Dupree. Take down your webpage claiming she is a medicine person, it harms Native people. As I said before, your support of Native causes is admirable, and I hope you see the contradiction in your previous help before, and supporting someone only out to cause harm like Dupree and Lekay.

We always welcome open discussion at NAFPS, and you can discuss this more there if you wish.

I am dismayed to find my name on your web site I am not a new age fraud. I do not claim to be a teacher of white buffalo. I sundanced for five years under the direction of Patrick Hendrickson deceased in 2005

What I wrote on Emissary of Light web site was my vision as I experienced and I also sent that information to Chief Looking Horse. You may remember that in 2001 he started a four year journey and he went to the places I had seen in my vision

I would never step over a first nations person as I have the greatest respect for the teachings. I do not conduct ceremony or am I involved in the selling of ceremony. I have supported native youth walking across Canada in 2003 on a youth suicide prevention walk

I support the work of looking back woman I know her and I beleive she is a medicine woman when she stepped forward thew first white buffalo was born in Canada in Fort St John.

Please take my name of your site as it does not belong there.

Thank you

Sheila Simpson

Glen Walker (editor, manager of groups),

I am sure that the Pipe she holds can bring good things when prayed with sincerity, as all extensions of the bundle are sacred, but these people are clueless to her accounts clearly taken from books and hearsay, dismissing even Arvol's father being totally negligent to let it leave??? Again, Arvol recalls that Pipe, it is Fools Crow's Sundance Pipe. I am sure Floyd, since he was close to Fools Crow as well, will verify himself.

I guess she is saying that all the "medicine men" that came after 1975 (when her father supposedly took it), meaning Fools Crow himself (EVERY YEAR) and Chauncey, including Floyd Hand, along with many many "traditional elders", were all fooling themselves. How disgracefull that she openly humiliates our People's integrity and is "afraid" of us on the rez, because she stereotypes all of our Nation as kinda being sick because we chose to grow up around our
People in a war zone??

As far as the Cannunpa never opened, there was a re-wrapping 5 years ago, so it was opened and many came, but only the virgins can touch the Cannunpa during this ceremony.

She is against the proclamation, as she does not understand the severity of the abuses that are going on all over the world and the requests from the Elders to put the protocols back in place (that directed Arvol, not dogma), as far as the early 70's (check out the pictures and what we know was going on in the abuses even back then). She is clearly mislead and part of that abuse and exploitation.

She also married non-natives, so she dismisses anything to do with traditional understanding and permits anyone to do as they please, to gather followers of non-native decent, only. (thank tuncas'ina that is not "the Pte San win Cannunpa") This is our "way of life", who we are as a "cultural" Indigenous Nation with roots and umbilical cord to ancestors and teachings. She is a surely distractor, as Alfred Bone Shirt calls them, along with this group that endorses by even assisting in posting her website against all our People as if we passed up our chance to who we are as the People of the Pipe.

One of the other main factors, on the website, she has a spirit releasing ceremony AFTER 10 YEARS FOR HER PARENTS, that is ludicrous, everyone knows that it is only 1 year if you keep a spirit, that is one of 7 scared rites, keeping of the soul, but for only 1 year (again misleading people or making it up).

The bottom line is; a Spiritual Leader has to live with his people, no matter what kind of nightmare or "war zone" she paints us all to be.

She has no business quoting the Bundle's lineage family with inaccuracy, that is pure disrespectfull for anyone to do that to any family.

I am saying this with pity for her, that goes along with prayers for her healing as to all she relays as being true; is a lie. From what I gathered, not a fault of her own, but by her father, who grew up away from the rez and when he visited, he received something that is sacred, but misinterpreting as something that was not (pte san win bundle) and passed down to down her. It is sad….

She need not be afraid to come one day to pray herself and like everyone else, like Fools Crow, and she will find out. I have a feeling though that this is engrained in her for so long that she will continue to live in her lie and not be brave to find out the truth.

Hello my relatives, I am forwarding this information, I dont know what this woman's (LBW) worry is when she doesn't even live around here and believes we worship a false sacred object. If this were so, why in the first place would Cheyenne River place this on their flag as a significance that it exists and is here in Green Grass and what is her argument? Dont you think they would've known this if this history lie recorded as they had Indian Agents that overseen everything as this Tribe is based under the auspices of the United States Government as a puppet? In todays life, to get anything back that the whiteman and their forked tongue promised is to have a "language, culture and history." This woman really wants to belittle our whole Nation here along with my late father. We are a poor people, barely in existence with our language, history (cannunpa) and culture (cannunpa) that are the basis for our everyday survival for funding to the Trust status imposed on us. Besides all cannunpa's are sacred and so what if don't have the real or original one here, what we do have is still sacred as hteir has been some miracles and my late relatives had strong beliefs in it here.

Why would the Late Fools Crow come here to Green Grass and pray at the sacred site before they departed out of Green Grass? Her statements are invalidating Fools Crow's belief, yet she holds his cannunpa she claims he gifted her? I dont want to argue her anymore, she claims to be a KEEPER of a sacredness and still full of spite and hate. She obviously doesn't carry the values in her message and probably doesn't live it like a virtue, obviously she is ignorant herself, she doesn't know the life we live here as a people whom worship this way of life whom hold this Cannunpa in high esteem.

I guess the question is are we all fools for what we believe in here as how she is portraying us? We are a Warrior people, that is why we are still in existence no matter how we were are/were put down like people like this LBW woman.

Hello there Sister,

I have came to a answer that is about time that the people know but the way to do it is to tell my grandfather's story.  If you do it any other way They shall try to intervene and put up many road blocks in our way.  This is the only way because we have all the douments of him and many of our people around the rez.  I heard about this meeting and Vivian High Elk is not a descendant of my grandfather.  Her family is from Thunder Butte and They are ALH followers probably the reason why she is doing that is because he did share some of his money with her.  Some times in the past when he got monies from the Shakopee Tribe his whole family had new cars, clothes, horses, horse trailers, bikes, anything you could imagine.  He does this all the time and uses the children in Green Grass as leverage for his personnal gain.  I was wondering what is a proper way to come out in the world with this and not to sound like i am trying to step on people's ego's, shoes, and do it without hurting anyone.  My family wants it done but don't know how to go about it.  Let's see what you can do brainstorm and get back to me and we shall be in touch and get this ball rolling.

Here on the reservation Vivan is causing alot of ruckous about the pipe and saying that ALH doesn't have it that is buried somewhere and they are going to find it and dig it up.  I feel sorry for these people that are out to gain power over such a wakan thing.  Another person that has no power or say is a guy by the name of Dewey Bad Warrior once agin both are people out to get fame.  I just wanted to give you a lilttle insight was as been goin on here little.  We all have to be humble, patient and go with wisdom so let us pray on this.

Dear Vivian,

Hunoup is the language that needs to be spoken here, I am sure you are fluent with it. My Lakota language skills are not in question here, it is whether or not Arvol Looking Horse is in possession of the Martha Bad Warrior's Cannunpa, period.

The reason you are so on about language is, that's all you've got for an argument. If you'd read the Riegert pdf file, you would've seen Martha Bad Warrior's words…this Cannunpa is for everyone, not just Lakota speaking persons. Martha Bad Warrior gave this interview with Riegert in 1936 before her death that winter. She wanted it known and recorded, that the heritage of the Cannunpa Wakan, is open to the good of all mankind, regardless of race, creed, color or blood quantums. He wrote it for her, so the story of Martha Bad Warrior and her people was written down with the origin and message of the Cannunpa Wakan. That is why you do not wish to acknowledge this information, it does not correspond with the "history" you've given. I want to see those winter count buffalo robes back 2000 yrs ago, with the story of WBCPW's coming to the people, if that is your proof. I did read what you wrote in Lakota, and your Father was mislead by the Looking Horse familyabout "what" Cannunpa Wakan they had. The Cannunpa Chief from Manitoba does not recognize ALH, and says the Cannunpa came between 1500-1600 hundred, to the people from WBCPW.

If you respect your ancestors, you would honor her words and legacy. However, this is not the case here. I have nothing I need to prove to anyone, other than the truth of our spiritual history that was preserved for us, and was changed to save face. It does not matter who I have married, or how much Lakota blood I have, or where I live…. the message is not about me, or you….it is about the Cannunpa Wakan….and how it is to be used properly.

And, for all who are interested, like the ones from the International Communities that were canvassed for donations, the language of our debate needs to be english. The same language that was used to canvass for the money. We first need to exchange tobacco to discuss this between us. Then, anytime, Vivian.

The more you put me down, the more you show you are not living the teachings yourself. The hypocracy is what is doing the most injustice to our people….and you are perpetuating that ignorance. Why has there been the Cultural Preservation Officer position open at Cheyenne River? Because someone needs to know our history, and preserve it, and without people like Riegert, without a personal agenda, it isn't happening at Cheyenne River.

Your reverse racism will not work here, nor will it serve the greater good of the people….all people.

If Jenaka and Looking Back Woman can respond to this within a couple minutes, then I would probably believe in them, but, if not, it is phonieness as far as I can see and believe. They are distractors, I believe that the "Keeper" and his "partner" put out there to obstruct the mission. Looking Back Woman claims to have the original pipe, why dont she tend to that? Obviously she doesn't believe in what she is doing as in her statement she claims to have the original one yet she is in defiance of our sacred one here. If they can just stop trying to take the focus off of the Keeper and his woman, as they are the abusers, it would be good. Vivian HE

Whereas we are the conveners of an ongoing series of comprehensive forums on the abuse and exploitation of Lakota spirituality; and whereas we represent the recognized traditional spiritual leaders, traditional elders, and grassroots advocates of the Lakota people; and whereas for too long we have suffered the unspeakable indignity of having our most precious Lakota ceremonies and spiritual practices desecrated, mocked and abused by non-Indian 'wannabes', hucksters, cultists, commercial profiteers and self-styled 'New Age shaman' and their followers; and whereas with horror and outrage we see this disgraceful expropriation of our sacred Lakota traditions has reached epidemic proportions; and whereas our precious Sacred Pipe is being desecrated through the sale of pipestone pipes at flea markets, powwows, and 'New Age' retail stores; and whereas pseudo-religious corporations have been formed to charge people money for admission into phoney 'sweatlodges' and 'vision quest' programmes; and whereas sacrilegious 'sundances' for non-Indians and cult leaders who promote abominable and obscene imitations of our sacred Lakota sundance rites; and whereas non-Indians have organised themselves into imitation tribes, assigning themselves make-believe Indian names to facilitate their wholesale expropriation and commercialisation of our Lakota traditions; and whereas academic disciples have sprung up at colleges and universities, institutionalizing the sacrilegious imitation of our spiritual practices by students and instructors under the guise of educational programs in 'shamanism'; and whereas non-Indian charlatans and 'wannabes' are selling books that promote the systematic colonization of our Lakota spirituality; and whereas the television and film industry continues to saturate the entertainment media with vulgar, sensationalist and grossly distorted representations of Lakota spirituality and culture which reinforce the public's negative stereotyping of Indian people and which gravely impair the self-esteem of our children; and whereas the absurd public posturing of this scandalous assortment of pseudo-Indian charlatans, cultists, 'wannabes', commercial profiteers, and 'New Age' shamans comprises a momentous obstacle in the struggle of traditional Lakota people for an adequate public appraisal of the legitimate political, legal and spiritual needs of real Lakota people; and whereas this exponential exploitation of our Lakota spiritual traditions requires we take immediate action to defend our most precious Lakota spirituality from further contamination, desecration and abuse; Therefore we resolve as follow:

1. We hereby and henceforth declare war against all persons who persist in exploiting, abusing and misrepresenting the sacred traditions and spiritual practices of our Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people.

2. We call upon all our Lakota, Dakota and Nakota brothers and sisters to actively and vocally oppose this alarming take over and systematic destruction of our sacred traditions.

3. We urge our people to coordinate with tribal members everywhere to identify instances in which our sacred traditions are being abused, and then to resist this abuse, utilizing whatever specific tactics are necessary; demonstrations, boycotts, press conferences etc.

4. We especially urge all our Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people to take action to prevent our own people from contributing to, and enabling, the abuse of our sacred ceremonies and spiritual practices by outsiders. As we all know, there are ones among our own people who are prostituting our spiritual ways for their own selfish gain.

5. We assert a posture of zero-tolerance for any 'white man's shaman' who rises from within our own communities to 'authorize' the expropriation of our ceremonial ways by non-Indians. All such 'plastic medicine men' are our enemies.

6. We urge traditional people, tribal leaders, and governing councils of all other Indian nations, to join us in calling for an immediate end to this rampant exploitation of our respective American Indian sacred traditions by issuing statements denouncing such abuse. It is not only the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people whose spiritual practices are being violated by non-Indians.

7. We urge all our Indian brothers and sisters to act decisively and boldly in our present campaign to end the destruction of our sacred traditions, keeping in mind our highest duty as Indian people; to preserve the purity of our precious traditions for our children and the future generations so that they will survive and prosper in the sacred manner intended for each of our respective peoples by our Creator.

Hello,

Well it seems that the family is waiting for something marvelous to happen.  This year during the Cherry Creek Powwow the honoring of the chiefs one.  Is when my family is coming out strong and telling the people there at the wacipi the truth.  My family is fine and it seems that they try and try to hurt me and my family but in the long run someone ALH is in a deep………….for all that he has done.  The Wounded Knee ride was a disgrace like usual everyone that was driving the vehicle was drinking and leaving the riders to go to LNI's in Rapid City.  All is fine and i am going  to shcool.  You should see if you can come to Sundance the second week in June is the one that i run.  Well be strong and help me to get a passport i am financially tied up now it costs around 200 i think but get back to me huh.

With much love go in peace and walk softly.
